Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month at Pajarito

January marks an important month in our industry: Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month. Recognized  by ski areas world-wide, this important initiative is designed to encourage first-time skiers and snowboarders to give snow sports a try – and, more importantly, to do it under the care and guidance of a professional ski school instructor. I often see well-intentioned friends/spouses/neighbors/etc. teaching their friends/spouses/neighbors how to ski or ride, and I’m here to tell you: the best way to learn is to do it with a professional instructor.

Pajarito is participating in Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month in a few ways:

As part of Ski New Mexico’s and KOAT’s Kids Learn to Ski and Snowboard Program (click here to read about it), kids ages 6-12 can enjoy a beginner lift ticket, full-day rental and 2 hour group lesson for just $50. This promotion is designed for first-time skiers and snowboarders and is available at Pajarito every Friday, Saturday and Sunday through January 31, 2016.

Pajarito also offers group packages everyday we’re open (Wednesdays through Sundays and holidays). For just over the cost of an adult lift ticket, guests of all ages can enjoy a full-day lift ticket, rental and a 2 hour group lesson. For our full list of ski school packages, please click here.

I’m proud of our ski school – we have an exceptionally high number of PSIA certified instructors, and these men and women are committed to providing the best ski school around. With our proximity to the Los Alamos National Lab, there’s an excellent chance your instructor could be a scientist, too.

Also, I think some of the best times to learn happen on POWDER days – Pajarito picked up 4″ last night, and it looks like we could have snow through the weekend! Click here for the latest forecast.
