Pajarito Will Open This Weekend

After yesterday’s 7″ of snow, Tom Long and the management team decided we will open Pajarito this Saturday and Sunday, January 24-25, 2015.

Like you, we are thrilled to finally open this ski area and, according to Tom, the conditions will be fantastic. Tom reports a base depth of 26″ and powder, packed powder and some machine groomed conditions.

We expect to open four lifts: Mother, Aspen, Beginner and the Might Mite. Essentially, we’ll  open everything from Bonanza to the west – which is 32 of our 44 trails, including 8 beginner trails, 8 intermediate trails and 16 expert trails.

For those of you wondering, that includes the Fab Four.

The lifts will turn this Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and all mountain facilities will be open, including ski school and the rental shop. Pajarito’s cafe will be open for breakfast and lunch this weekend.

After this weekend, Tom and our team will determine and announce additional dates of operation.

If you have not already picked up your season pass, we highly encourage you to do this before this weekend. Our office will remain open additional hours tomorrow, January 23, for you to pick up your pass – you are welcome to come by anytime between 8:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. If you wait until Saturday or Sunday to pick up your pass, please come early!

As a reminder, lift tickets are $49 for adults (ages 21-59), $42 for students (ages 13-20), $34 for kids (ages 7-12) and $42 for seniors (ages 60-69). Kids ages 6 and younger and guests ages 70 and older receive a free lift ticket everyday.

We couldn’t be more excited to kick off skiing and snowboarding in Los Alamos! We hope you join us this weekend.
