Townsight Opens on Saturday!

I’m very excited to announce that Pajarito’s Townsight lift and the east area of our mountain will open this Saturday, Sunday and Monday!

What’s more is that for the first time in many years, we’ll have nearly 100% of our terrain open! (West Side Ma Bell and Gene’s Choice remain closed until we clear the downed trees).

This will be the first time since 2010 we’ve operated this lift. As many of you know, the top terminal of Townsight – along with several acres of the eastern edge of our mountain – burned during the Las Conchas Fire in 2011. Thanks to the hard work of our staff, the ski club volunteers and our local community, we were able to rebuild the station and clean up the slopes affected by the fire – and we couldn’t be more proud to finally debut everything this Saturday.

Townsight is known for having some of the best tree skiing on the mountain – people absolutely love it over there (and I do, too). Our plan is to have this lift and the trails serviced by Townsight open every Saturday and Sunday this season.

As a way to celebrate the lift opening, the snow and – quite frankly – one of the best seasons in recent history, Pajarito will be rolling out two new deals we think you’re going to love:

Wednesdays will be Car Load Days, where everyone in one car (up to six people) will ski for just $99. Click here for more information, and be sure to ask for the deal at the ticket window!

Thursdays are Local Appreciation Days, and we’re discounting lift tickets for everyone: $39 for adults, teens and seniors, and $29 for kids! No ID required for this one – you could be from Los Alamos, Oklahoma City or even Rome, and you still get the local’s discount. Just ask for it at the window. Click here for more details.

As a reminder, Pajarito is open every Wednesday through Sunday, and for the holiday weekend, we’ll be open Monday, January 18, too. Tomorrow, January 15, the County will have a mandatory power outage from 8:00 to 8:15 a.m. If you’re at the ticket window or in our restaurant during this time, please bear with us during the outage and the time following when we re-boot our system.

On Saturday, don’t miss the FREE Ski Bike Demo Day and our first Beer & Band of the season, too! Click here for information on these and other upcoming events.

There’s so much excitement at Pajarito – we’re eager to share it with you! See you this weekend on Townsight!
