COVID Health & Safety

Welcome to Pajarito!

Pajarito Mountain will be updating all policies based on Local, State, and Federal guidelines. We will ensure all guests receive necessary and prompt communication based on these guidelines, and will implement new regulations as required.

Please abide by New Mexico guidelines for physical distancing, face coverings, and hygiene. Please review these guidelines here.

What to expect:

  • Pajarito Mountain encourages face coverings and physical distancing for all guests.
  • Pajarito Mountain Cafe will have limited indoor dining capacity with plenty of room to seat outdoors on the deck. Food can be ordered online here.
  • Individuals or groups traveling together may request a  lift operator to ride on their own chair. Otherwise, load chairs normally.
  • Lift Line spacing is encouraged.

Face coverings will be required to be worn properly at all times in all indoor public settings, including:

  • Restaurant
  • Restrooms
  • Group lessons
  • Pajarito Retail Store
  • Rental Shop

Face coverings will not be required outdoors, in lift or ticket lines, or on chairlifts, unless required by state or federal regulations.

Just like last season, we will continue to be diligent with our cleaning and disinfecting of all ski and snowboard rental equipment, indoor public spaces, and bathrooms.

Pajarito will have limited indoor seating. All guests, vaccinated or not, will have to wear a face covering any time they are not seated, as well as when they are not actively eating and drinking. Guests should plan to spend 30 minutes or less at indoor tables.Pajarito will not allow guests to use the indoor tables for extended periods of time or use the indoor tables to consume outside food and beverage. No personal items will be allowed to be left in the buildings

Pajarito Mountain anticipates normal chairlift operations this year. and asks guests to ride on a lift with people outside their party  — make a new friend! The “singles” line will group singles together to fill a chair. Pajarito will accommodate any request to ride the chairlift alone or with only members of their family. Please ask the lift operators to assist you with this request. Pajarito encourages guests riding with others outside their traveling party to wear a face covering.

Pajarito Snowsports will kick off the season by offering both group and private lessons, and plans to adjust ski school throughout the season.

  • Group lessons for ages 6-12 yrs old will be limited to 6-8 students.
  • Group lessons for ages 13+ will be limited to 8-10 students.
  • Friends and Family for ages 6 and up will be limited to 4 family members.
  • Private lessons are the only option for 3, 4 & 5-year-old children.

Lessons must be purchased 48 hours in advance. Please note that we have limited capacity for our lessons.

Face coverings will be required in all lessons 12 and under regardless of vaccination status. If a guest is 13 and older and can maintain 6′ of distance from the instructor, a face-covering requirement will be at the instructor’s discretion. Guests should have a face covering on whenever they cannot maintain 6′ of distance from other guests or the instructor.

All employees are required to either be vaccinated or undergo weekly testing.  Employees must wear face coverings in all public indoor settings, and must wear a face covering outdoors when social distancing of 6’ can not be maintained.
